Advanced Ads – Slider

The "Slider" functionality in Advanced Ads is available through the paid Ad Slider add-on, which transforms an ad group into a dynamic, rotating carousel. It automatically rotates multiple ads within the same space, similar to an image slider

How the ad slider works

To use the Ad Slider, you must create an Ad Group and set its group type to "Ad Slider". You can then add any ads you've created with Advanced Ads to this group. The add-on uses the following features to control the carousel: 

• Ad weights: The weight assigned to each ad determines the order in which it appears within the slider.
• Time delay: You can specify a delay for how long each ad is displayed before the next one appears.
• Random order: An optional setting allows you to randomize the sequence of ads on each page load. 

How to set up an ad slider

1. Install the add-on: Purchase and install the Ad Slider add-on from the Advanced Ads website. It is also included in the "All Access" bundle.
2. Create an Ad Group: In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Advanced Ads > Groups & Rotations.
3. Choose "Ad Slider": Create a new group and select "Ad Slider" as the group type.
4. Add ads to the group: Assign the ads you want to display in the slider to the new group.
5. Configure display options: Use the ad weights to determine the order and set the desired display delay.
6. Embed the ad group: Place the ad group on your website using a placement, shortcode, or widget, just as you would for a single ad. 

Considerations for ad sliders

• Google AdSense compatibility: AdSense policies do not permit embedding their ads in sliders or using timed ad refreshes. For AdSense ads, it is safer to use the standard "Random ads" group type, which rotates ads only on page reloads.
• Customization: You can customize the appearance and animation of the slider, such as the speed, animation type (horizontal or vertical), and navigation buttons, using WordPress filters and custom CSS.
• Tracking: If you have the Advanced Ads Tracking add-on, it will track an impression for each ad in the slider on page load.
