Advanced Ads – PopUp and Layer Ads

The Advanced Ads PopUp and Layer Ads add-on allows you to display ads in dynamic pop-up or layered formats that appear over your content. This can be used for monetizing with high-impact ads, or for displaying other content like promotions, announcements, or email signup forms. 

The add-on offers flexible timing and triggers, customizable design options, and methods for managing user experience. 

Key features of PopUp and Layer Ads

• Layered display: Ads are shown in a layer above your website's content, effectively grabbing the user's attention.
• Flexible triggers: You can control exactly when the ad appears using a variety of conditions.
  • Time-based: Show the pop-up after a specific time delay.
  • Scroll-based: Trigger the ad after a user has scrolled a certain distance down the page.
  • Exit-intent: Display the ad when a user shows behavior that indicates they are about to leave the page, such as moving their cursor toward the browser's close button.
  • Click-triggered: Launch a pop-up when a user clicks on a specific link or element.
• Customizable close button: You can add a close button to your pop-ups, and even enable an optional timeout so a dismissed ad isn't shown to the same user again for a set period.
• Background overlay: Optionally add a semi-transparent background overlay to draw focus to the pop-up or layered ad.
• Advanced display effects: Choose from different effects like fade-in or slide-in to control how the pop-up appears on the screen.
• Interstitial ads: Create full-screen, click-triggered interstitial ads that appear between page views.
• Frequency capping: Set limits on how often the same user sees a pop-up, preventing a negative user experience.
• AdSense policy compliance: Advanced Ads warns users that AdSense policies do not permit placing AdSense ads inside a pop-up or layer format. The add-on is designed for use with other ad types or internal content. 

How to set up PopUp and Layer Ads

1. Install the add-on: Purchase and install the PopUp and Layer Ads add-on. It's included in the "All Access" bundle.
2. Create your ad: Go to Advanced Ads > Ads and create the ad you want to display in the pop-up. This can be an image, plain text, or an ad group.
3. Create a placement: Navigate to Advanced Ads > Placements and click New Placement.
4. Select "PopUp and Layer": Give your placement a name, and from the placement type options, select "PopUp and Layer Ads".
5. Assign the ad: Attach the ad you created in step 2 to the new placement.
6. Configure triggers and effects: Click Show all options to access the detailed settings. Here you can:
   • Choose the timing (e.g., after 5 seconds, after scrolling).
   • Set the ad's position on the screen.
   • Add a close button and background overlay.
   • Set frequency capping to limit impressions.
7. Publish the placement: Save your settings to make the pop-up or layer ad live on your site.
